Fellowship description

Dr Siva Chandrasekaran offers a 12-month Fellowship starting from the 1st of July of the prospective year and ending on 30th of June the following year.  The Fellowship provides training in robotic joint replacement surgery, revision surgery and arthroscopic surgery of the hip and knee.

Fellowship structure

The fellowship involves a combination of private and public commitments over multiple sites.  There is usually 1.5 days of private operating, 2 days of private clinics and 1 day of public operating.

The Fellow will be expected to assist with the private hospital commitments and can progress to supervised independent operating as the primary surgeon for the public hospital lists.  The Fellowship comprises 350 joint replacements per year and 350 arthroscopic procedures.  The Fellow will be expected to complete 2 research projects during the year.

Fellowship requirements

The successful candidate needs to be fully certificated from their country of origin.  A letter to assist visa procedures will be provided but it is the candidates responsibility to ensure correct visa processing.

Fellowship Stipend

A stipend of $70 000 will be provided for the 12 months with the provision of 4 weeks annual leave.
